ACT I
SCENE 1: THE DAWNING
SEEKER
To understand this story we must start at the beginning… before the people, the planets, or even time itself. There were three Gods.
(A spotlight comes up on THE ILLUSIONIST)
The Illusionist. The oldest of the Gods. She started this story. She created everything. She created life. She created Orcus. The planet where our story takes place.
(Light comes up on THE WATCHER)
Her sister, The Watcher. She appreciated her sisters creation for what it was… beautiful. She felt it was her duty to protect the people of the planet. And what was she protecting them from? She was protecting them from the youngest of the gods… The Seeker.
(The stage is bathed in red light for a split second and a clap of thunder joins it. The stage goes black again, save for the two spotlights.)
He was angry about his brothers creations. He felt like he was being replaced by the humans. And so, in an act of pure rage, he tried to destroy Orcus. But, he didn't get far before his sisters locked him away. They trapped him somewhere he could never escape. They stripped him of his power and turned him into a figment of their memories. But, there was a catch. The eldest god knew that her brother was too dangerous to ever be free again… so, to keep him trapped, she had to sacrifice the thing she cared about most, her freedom. She locked herself away with him. Sentenced herself to millions of years of torture and damnation… A fate worse than death.
This tale is one of people. A Runaway and The Wanderer, A Saint, A Rebel, The Princess and A Lost girl, A queen. And three gods. I’d like to tell you there’s a happy ending. I’d like to say everyone gets their happily ever after. But, that would be a lie. We all have our own core stories to tell.
Listen closely or you might miss something… This story is about the power we all have in ourselves. It’s my job to tell this. And so it goes:
